Alexandra Salome is a contemporary artist working across

painting, sculpture, relief and digital media. Since 2018–2019,

she has been developing her original concept of Hysterical Art

— an artistic practice that neither explains trauma nor seeks to

resolve it, but instead creates  a space where viewers can encounter

what often remains repressed or beyond language.

Raised in a family of artists, engineers and inventors, Salome approaches art

as a form of research.

Each project begins with an in-depth study of its historical, cultural and material context.

Her practice brings together classical artistic heritage, contemporary technology, urban culture, and material objects, creating new visual relationships between the past and the present.

Her work has been exhibited as part of the 59th Venice Biennale, EXPO Dubai 2020, and in solo

and group exhibitions across Italy, United States, Israel and United Arab Emirates. She participated in an international artist residency in Italy, worked in stage design and created installations for fashion productions. One of her digital projects was featured in a British publication on contemporary art edited by Edward Lucie-Smith.

Today, Salome is developing several large-scale artistic series exploring the body, memory, historical heritage and the place of the individual within contemporary society. Whether working

in painting, sculpture or spatial installation, her practice is rooted in long-term research and

a commitment to creating works that invite viewers into a direct encounter with their own experience rather than offering predetermined interpretations.
